Social Dancing
Kid's and Teen's DanceSport Medal classes are great fun for children -
they learn to dance and have fun with other kids at the same time.
The classes are good for shy children, helping them develop self-
confidence and self-esteem based on real achievement.
Boys and dance
Latin and Ballroom dancing are great fun and boys love the classes.
Normal day wear is all that is required. Latin is a great way for boys to
develop rhythm and strength and Ballroom teaches them to move
gracefully.
Party Line Dancing
Included in the DanceSport Medal classes are popular party line dances
including YMCA, Greased Lightning, The Box etc which are great for
learning timing, rhythm and warming up.
Kids/Teens DanceSport Medal classes are upbeat. We use the latest
pop music as well as traditional Latin and Ballroom tracks.
Parents
Are welcome to stay and watch the class - in fact, we prefer it. That
way, you can enjoy the class too and meet up with other parents as well
as stay in touch with what your children are learning. Enjoy a free cup of
tea or coffee while you wait.
Dance Exams
All Kids and Teens Dancesport Medal classes provide the opportunity for
kids to perform for the appropriate level of medal tests.
Little Latin students dance for Rosette exams which aren't graded but
give the children the opportunity to begin performing from an early age.
All children are expected to complete medal exams and participate in the
end-of-term events.
What to wear?
There are no compulsory concerts or expensive costumes to make or
hire however all students are required to complete medal exams and
participate in the end of term events.
Upon joining, your child receives a free Hotpink Dance Centre Tee-shirt
which they are required to wear to class.
Shoes
All children require the specialist Ballroom or Latin dance shoes.Latin and
Ballroom dance shoes have a special sole and are flexible and light. We
sell shoes and are expert in fitting so please see us to order your shoes.
Girls Latin shoes are $79. Boys shoes are $89.
Monthly Dances
Once per month, we hold a dance in which families and students come
together and try out their new skills. Tickets are $30 for a Family or $15
Adults and $5 Kids & Teens. BYO food and drinks. free for Junior Gold
members. This is a great night for everyone!
Friday Practice Class
Every Friday night we hold a Practice Class 6:30-7:30pm.
We play music in Ballroom, New Vogue and Latin American for you to
practise your dance routines.
Cost is $5 or free for Junior Gold members.
Function Nights
We have five major functions per year which are big events to celebrate
the end of term and some of the Hotpink students (including adults and
children) perform medal exams and floorshows. These events include
something for everyone with lots of social dancing, games to play and
prizes to be won. Bring a plate to share in a wonderful supper during he
evening. Light snacks are provided, cans are for sale and free tea and
coffee. These events are so much fun that students say they, "wouldn't
miss it for the world"!
Joining
Upon paying your enrolment fees, your child receives a free Hotpink
Dance Centre T-shirt to wear to class. This can be teamed with a little
black latin skirt or leggings in winter. Boys may wear jeans or cotton
pants to class. Many of the children also puchase a Jacket which has
their name embroidered on the back. T-shirts are $19.95 and Jackets
are $65.

If your child takes more than one class per week it is definitely worth considering. Children 12yrs and over may take the ZUMBA FItness Classes. Entitles your child to do all the appropriate classes in their age group each week plus free entry to Monthly Saturday Night Dance and Friday Night Practice Class and $5 discount on entry to major events.
